Sarv String Orchestra

Sarv Strings is is a pre-professional string orchestra established in 2013. Directed by Kousha Nakhaei and Bijan Sepanji, Sarv Strings is committed to learning, performing repertoire from different eras of classical music, (original and arrangements), as well as music from different cultural backgrounds including Celtic, Middle Eastern, Jazz and Canadian music. Sarv Strings also commissions Canadian composers for original composition. Repertoire is carefully chosen and arranged for pedagogical content. Professional musicians join the orchestra prior to performances, giving the members a chance learn from playing alongside professionals. Sarv Strings holds auditions annually in September and prepares for 3 short concerts during the academic year. (Dec, Mar, Jun)
